Ruffles and Ruching as Vyvienne Long presents Ballgown Musette in Dublin for love:live music
(Dublin, 11.06.2012) Vyvienne Long plays her first headline Dublin gig this year, in a not be missed performance in collaboration with guests Niwel Tsumbu, the virtuoso Congolese guitarist, and Roger Doyle, the Godfather of electronic music, at love:live music on Thursday, June 21st.
Ballgown Musette takes place in the stunning surroundings of the Freemasons’ Hall on Molesworth Street, with audience members invited to dress for the occasion in a vintage ball gown, a bow tie under a cape, or a Zulu headdress. Ruffles and ruching, taffeta and trimmings, feathers and frills – all are encouraged!
Also joined by her band – Sokol Koka on cello, Mary Barnecutt on cello, Dan Bodwell on bass and Raoul Empey on piano – this evocative free performance will feature songs from Vyvienne’s debut album Caterpillar Sarabande (2010) which Hot Press said was ‘charming and disarming’, and the quirky and funky cover versions that she is renowned for.
